You may make an appointment to come into the office for a paid one-time consultation at no further obligation. During this consultation, you will tell me all about your case, I will give you my advice and if you desire, we would fashion a plan for handling your case.
If you decide to retain my services, you will sign a receive a legal representation agreement which will be specific to your case. This agreement will spell out the terms on which I will handle your case and will guide our relationship as lawyer and client, setting out exactly what I am to being hired to do. It will also contain a breakdown of the fees you will pay me to represent you.
A lot of cases are handled on a flat-fee basis. In each case, filing fees which are to be paid to the USCIS are separate and different from legal fees which are paid to me as your lawyer.
Sometimes a case may become more complicated than was reasonably anticipated when the representation agreement was entered. At other times, other matters may develop or need attention as the immigration case proceeds. When this happens, fees will be re-evaluated. |
